Jim and Pat McDonald, along with volunteers from the Plateau Scottish Country Dancers, will be leading ceilidh (participation) dancing at the Hood Canal Highland Celtic Festival (Sept. 1-2). Dancing will be at 11:00 and 2:00 both Saturday and Sunday. All are welcome to join in and learn some easy Scottish country dances.

Dance area will be near the west side of the event grounds.

Our dance schedule for the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games in Enumclaw from July 27-29 is as follows:

Friday July 27th (free admission)
Around 9:00 p.m.: Ceilidh dancing @ the indoor stage.

Saturday July 28th
10:00-10:45 a.m.: Demonstration dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
10:45-11:30 a.m.: Audience participation dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
2:00-2:45 p.m.: Demonstration dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
2:45-3:30 p.m.: Audience participation dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
Around 8:00 p.m.: Ceilidh dancing @ the south stage.

Sunday July 29th
10:00-10:45 a.m.: Demonstration dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
10:45-11:30 a.m.: Audience participation dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building
2:00-2:45 p.m.: Demonstration dancing @ the Celtic Marketplace building

As we head into the summer dancing season, a number of events are approaching. Consult the events calendar for specific times, locations, and ticketing information.

Queen Victoria’s Birthday Celebration (May 19)

Some of our members along with the Tacoma Scottish Country Dancers will be demonstrating several dances during the event.

Anyone could come watch and/or join in with participation dancing, or just take in the event.

Tacoma Highland Games (June 22-23)

Scottish country dancing will be demonstrated by Tacoma Scottish Country Dancers, including some of our own members.

Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games (July 27-29)

We will be performing demonstration dancing and then offering audience participation dancing in the mornings and afternoons of Saturday and Sunday (exact times TBA).

Hood Canal Highland Celtic Festival (September 1-2)

We are expecting to offer Ceilidh dancing and music again this year, but nothing is official yet. More info TBA later in the summer.
