We hope everyone had a good holiday season and you’re ready to meet the new year. Let’s dance off all those pies and cookies!

We will resume our Monday night dance classes on January 8 at 7 pm at the Danish Hall, 1708 Porter St. Enumclaw. It looks like the weather will cooperate and we won’t have snow–yet. We’re keeping a close watch on the weather in the coming weeks. We will post a notice if we need to cancel class.

**If you think you might have been exposed to COVID, RSV, flu, etc. or have symptoms, please wait until a later date to attend. Let’s help protect each other.

Monday the 8th will be the first class of the month so wear your kilt or a skirt if you wish. Let’s dress it up a bit!

We are planning on attending the Tacoma Scots Robert Burns supper happening on Saturday February 3. This event is always a fun evening. The location is the Tacoma Sportsman Club at 16409 Canyon Rd. E. Puyallup and it runs from 5 to 10 pm. The price is $60 per person for the banquet and evening’s entertainment. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com. For more information visit www.tacomascots.org. The evening includes the Address to the Haggis, a full dinner, pipe band performances, a silent auction and dance music.

We look forward to dancing with you in the coming year!

This Saturday December 2 is the annual Enumclaw Santa Parade. The Seattle Highland Games Association marches to promote the games held every July at the Enumclaw Expo Center. Come join the fun! Anyone is welcome to march, carry a banner and smile at the onlookers. Wear tartan if you have it and add holiday decorations if you wish! We will form up around 5:30 pm somewhere near the intersection of Cole St. and Washington Ave. at the north end of downtown. Listen for bagpipes and drums. Dress for the weather!

We invite you to go on our website and check out our recently added gallery photos from dancing we did in September. We were invited to demonstrate and teach Scottish Country Dancing at the national convention of the Daughters of Scotia ceilidh (party). It was a fun evening of songs, poems and dancing with dozens of people participating. You can find those and many other photos at plateauscottishcountrydancers.org. Click on the Gallery button.

As always, we welcome beginners and experienced dancers each Monday night for 2 hours of fun at the Danish Hall in Enumclaw (see Events on our website). We will break for the holidays after December 11 and resume January 8.

With the coming of winter, we need to address weather cancellations. If the weather is snowy, icy, or very windy, we will cancel Monday dance class. We will try to inform you as early as possible, hopefully by Sunday afternoon. Watch for notices from the website by email or possibly a text or phone call. As always, use your best judgment! If weather is bad where you are, or on the route to Enumclaw, stay home and stay safe.

PSCD will continue dancing Mondays through December 11 and then break for the holidays, resuming on Monday, January 8th, 2024.
